Most tools only show ACoS. Advindix also shows you TaCoS — the metric that tells you how profitable you truly are, including organic revenue.

The metric Bol sellers
really need to know

TaCoS = Total Advertising Cost of Sale. The ratio between total advertising costs and total revenue — including organic orders.

The formula

TaCoS = (Total ad spend / Total revenue) × 100%. Simple, but devastatingly insightful.

Organic growth visible

As your organic ranking grows through advertising, your TaCoS drops. That's proof your strategy is working.

Monitor profitability

If your TaCoS stays below your profit margin, you're making money. Simple. Powerful. Instantly visible.

ACoS vs TaCoS: what's the difference?

ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sale)

Measures only ad costs vs ad revenue. Doesn't show how ads drive organic growth. Can be misleading when organic growth is strong.

ACoS = Ad cost / Ad revenue × 100

TaCoS (Total Advertising Cost of Sale)

Measures ad costs vs total revenue (ad + organic). Shows the complete picture. The metric for sustainable growth on Bol.

TaCoS = Ad cost / Total revenue × 100

Advindix recommendation

Smart Rule active: Brand campaign exceeds TaCoS target. Bid is automatically being reduced.

Four reasons why TaCoS
tells more than ACoS

Measure organic growth

Suppose you have an ACoS of 30%. That seems high. But if your TaCoS is 8%, because organic revenue is 4x larger, you're doing excellently. ACoS would make you think the campaign is underperforming.

Prevent cannibalism

If your TaCoS rises while ACoS falls, you're advertising for revenue you'd get organically anyway. Advindix detects this automatically and alerts you with a notification.

Monitor profitability

Know your gross margin? Then you know exactly what your maximum TaCoS can be. Advindix helps you set a TaCoS target and activate Smart Rules when you exceed it.

Strategy by product lifecycle

New product? A higher TaCoS is fine — you're investing in visibility. Mature product? TaCoS should be low. Advindix helps you apply the right strategy per product.

Frequently asked questions about TaCoS

What is a good TaCoS for Bol?
This depends on your gross margin. If your margin is 30%, you want TaCoS below 20-25% to remain profitable. General guideline: below 10% is excellent, 10-20% is good, above 20% needs attention.
Why is TaCoS better than ACoS?
ACoS only shows ad costs vs ad revenue. TaCoS also includes organic revenue. If organic revenue grows through advertising, TaCoS falls — something ACoS can't see. Both metrics are useful, but TaCoS gives the complete picture.
How does Advindix calculate my TaCoS?
Advindix connects your advertising data to your total sales data via the official Bol API. This way we know both your ad spend and your total revenue per period, per campaign and per product.
Can I set TaCoS targets per campaign?
Yes. You can set a TaCoS target per campaign. Smart Rules can automatically intervene when you're above or below your target — increasing or decreasing bids, pausing campaigns or adjusting budget.
What's the difference between TaCoS and ROAS?
ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) is the inverse of ACoS: how much revenue does every euro of ad spend generate. A ROAS of 5x = ACoS of 20%. TaCoS goes a step further by including organic revenue as well.
